Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, Tomorrow starts 2006! Amazing. Meghan had a great check up yesterday. She is now 11 lbs 5 oz and 22 inches long. So since her birth she has gained over 4 lbs and 3 inches. Pretty good numbers. She had 3 shots.Standard vaccines. She has also started smiling and cooing at us. Which just makes me melt everytime. We have done a lot of cleaning today. The apartment needed it badly. And our buddy Brian came over for lunch and to just hang out.Unfortunatly Natalie stayed at her parents because she is a bit under the weather. Jason made some killer sandwiches. And we watched Kronk's New Groove and played Life.(I won ;-p)
Other then that we will most likely stay up to watch the ball drop or something like that on t.v. But it will just be a quiet New Year's Eve for us. Happy 2006 all.

Celebrated Great Grandpa Bob's 80th birthday at a lovely Italian resturant. We spent Christmas Eve over at Mike and Diana's house. And then had a nice more relaxed Christmas Day at my Mom's.We have all been fighting colds and are now just trying to recoup from everything. Meghan is now 2 months old.She has her check up on Friday, and I am anxious to see how big she has gotten. Lots of rain here. Looks like it might be a record for the month of December. We also had some fraud activity with our checking account. Some jerk stole $600 from us. So it has been quite an ordeal, but hopefully can get resolved soon. After this experience I can say you can never be too careful.Anyway I think that's the news for now.I will try to post again after Meghan's appointment. Bye for now.

It's a good thing we only have 2 kids or we would need a bigger car.All our baking is finally done. Red and green spritz cookies, chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge are what we made for this year.So we will be heading out friday afternoon and coming home monday afternoon. So exciting!I sure do love Christmas. A white Christmas once would be nice though. Hope everyone has a great Christmas. I don't think I will get another posting before Christmas.Just way, way to much to do. Besides caring for 2 little girls. Later, Jess

So for the last 3 days or so, the news stations here in the Vancouver/Portland area have been on so called"Storm Watch".The top news story every time the news is broadcast. Saying that we should be getting some snow.Trimet is putting chains on some of it's buses.Power outage hotlines are mentioned. Schools are ready to make the call at 5 am. The whole 9 yards. Now, being the 1st of Dec. and being a lover of all things winter.I love the snow. SO it could dump a whole foot on us and it would be okay with me. But what happens this morning of course no snow but rain. Something pretty darn routine here in the Great Northwest. I wish the media here would stop making such a big deal about the weather. Especially since the are usually wrong. I want my Snow.;-(

Meghan, now a month old was the center of what attention Sydney wasn't getting. They both did great. Although Syd I think ate too much, Because on the drive home she threw up on herself and all the blankets in the back. So I have been doing a lot of laundry today. We are all doing pretty well. It has been cold and windy here. It's 35 degrees currently. So we are trying to stay warm. I am glad we have a fireplace. I think it will be getting a lot of use this winter.I better go take care of the little ones. Check out all of our new pictures in Flickr. Just click on this photo.Oh,What a great hockey game last night. Colorado kicked Vancouver's butt 6-2.Beating them for the 4 straight time.Sorry Rhiverson's.

She doesn't drink as much milk as she used to.But no longer cries for a bottle. The fact Meghan gets bottles doesn't bother her.It is weird seeing all the Christmas stuff in the stores now. It is like the holidays run together. From one to the next without a pause in between. We like watching the gas prices fall. Now down to 2.25 a gallon. Cool beans.Have a good day all.

Birthday's and Gas Prices

Happy Birthday to my little sister Emily. Happy first 3 months of life to our niece Mhari. 11 days left on the Meghan countdown.Another mid-wife appt. tomorrow morning. Unless I get lucky and go into labor. One can always hope.I haven't been having as much contractions or movement lately. So I want to find out what's going on in there. While I was driving Jason to work this morning, we couldn't help but notice the lowering gas prices. We saw 2.49 a gallon twice. Of course that is the lowest grade. Heck, the only grade we can afford these days. Another thing I am noticing is all the lovely leaves changing color. It's so pretty. By for now.

I am anxious to see if I have made anymore progress at wedsnesday mornings mid wife appointment. Still trying to be patient and leave it in God's hands. But it sure is hard. At least I know if she doesn't come on her own, I will get induced eventually. I am hoping the won't make me go all the way to 41 weeks. And would induce on my due date. I will ask at the appointment. Have a good week everyone.

It's confusing because the ultrasound I had said I was 5 days farther along, with a due date of Nov.1st and not the 6th. But of course the doctors want to go with the other due date. So that leaves me at 38 weeks still. And 14 days to go. I wish things would hurry up. It is so frustrating. Syd is doing well.Jason's schedule has changed yet again. He now works 1pm-10pm on sunday and 10am-8pm monday-thursday.The nice thing is it should allow for a normal sleep schedule again. Which he really needs. It looks like Grandma and Grandpop Rivers should feel some of the effects of Hurricane Wilma. But should be okay.At least the winds have slowed down. The Av's got beat saturday by the Canucks. Bummer.Hope you all are well.We will continue to wait for Miss Meghan.

Meghan update

Today was another check-up. The doctor said I am currently 2 cms. dilated and had a soft cervix. Baby is down in position for her arrival. At least all the contractions I have been having are doing something. The thought is it won't be too much longer before labor starts. I am hoping it will be before Monday. Sometime this weekend would be just fine.If not next wedsnesday is another mid-wife appointment. In fact she is moving as I write this. Grandma Dolly has her bag packed and gas tank filled to come up as soon as things start. It is about a 2 and 1/2 hour drive for her. It is assumed my labor should be about 4-5 hours this time. At least that is what the docs has told me.Grandma Dolly is going to stay with us a few days and help with Syd so I can get adjusted to my new little one, etc.Plus I don't want Syd in the room for the delivery. I feel it would be too traumatic for her.It appears Hurricane Wilma is headed for our family in Florida so please keep them all in your prayers. It's time for CSI, So good night all.

We are on day 3 of this crazy mission.I even bought some different cups that have a soft silicone spout and not the hard plastic kind. In hopes it would be more bottle like. So between not giving in to her crying spells(so far so good) and my frustration(wanting to cry)with the fact I feel I will be pregnant forever. When is labor going to start? That is the question.Life has been a little tense you could say around here. Not to mention that Jason has been working 10-12 hour days lately.I am so curious to see what Dr.Watt has to say tomorrow. I plan on asking him "How much longer to I have to wait to be induced?" We shall see. At least everyday is one day closer to the actual due date. I think 13 days left. This baby has to come out sometime.Oh, trying to be patient, not nearly as easy as it sounds.

There were 2 baby's born while we were there. Ahh, the excitement. All my pre-registration paperwork is done.It was funny, our tour guide kept telling me to sit down. Like I was going to drop the baby out right there. I have been having lots, and lots of contractions. It's getting to be a regular evening event. So I hope we won't be waiting too much longer.I keep telling her to start at anytime.Syd has recovered nicely from her virus. And is back to her destructive self.So will see what the lastest news is on thursday's doctor's appt. Providing she doesn't come before that. I wish she would.;-)

The tech said the baby is full term, with plenty of fluid, head down and looking good. The heartbeat is what it should be. And the machine gave us a due date of Nov.1st.Which is 5 days early then we had guessed. He said though you a never completely accurate. So she can come at anytime. It could be tomorrow or 3 weeks from now.I guess only time will tell.

All still seems okay in MeghanLand. I have an ultrasound thursday morning to see if she is head down for the delivery. And then the birthcenter tour saturday afternoon. The next doctor appointment on thursday. As long as things continue normally one of the midwives will deliever her and not a doc. Which is fine with me.Because they are there for support through out the labor and delivery process. And not just at baby time. Besides I just have this thing about a man delivering a baby. I am weird I know. And we can't forget Syd will be 2 on thursday.Wow. Where does the time go?

From what I have seen on the net, we won't be able to watch any until mid November. At least it won't be too far into the season.Other than that I am anxiously awaiting Tuesday afternoon, to see how the baby is doing.Bye all, And Go Av's!

We are cleaning today. We will have our first overnight visitors tomorrow. My Mom and Grandma Bev are coming for a visit. So I am very excited about that as well. We will also get to see Craig for the day. I am sure Syd will get very excited when they show up. We also got started with WIC yesterday. They help with things like nutrition, breastfeeding support and food checks. So I am happy about that.I really, really want to make breastfeeding work this time, So I was happy to hear they have a support group for other first time breastfeeding moms. You can be sure I will be involved in that.It rained something terrible yesterday. But in a way it was rather peaceful. Sydney will be 2 in 12 days. So hard to believe. We are expecting Meghan not to long after that. I just have this gut feeling she will be here in October and not November. Her due date is Nov.6th. Although Sydney was a full 41 weeks.I will post again after we have our visitors. I am sure I will have pictures. Peace and love to all.

I don't know if it's a male or female doc. But at this point I don't care. I am starting to get a bit anxious, because I am 2 weeks overdue for a prenatal check-up.But at least I have been pregnant before, and know what I should or shouldn't be feeling. So far things seem okay.At least I haven't had any problems with this pregnancy to worry about. So I am looking forward to wednesday. Jason has been working like crazy. Only 1 day off last week. And none this week.He is suppose to have next thursday off,but we will believe it when it actually happens. Poor guy has been struggling with his bread making a bit more than he and his bosses expected I think.I still can't believe Syd will be 2 in a month. We drove around the city last night.Saw more of the area than we had. It was fun. I am looking forward to checking out downtown, as well as Portland.I am used to Monroe,a nice size of 15,000 people. Vancouver is 140,000. So it is still a big adjustment. So far I like it though. We continue to find new places to eat. Last night I wouldn't settle for anything less than some teriyaki. Ah pregnancy cravings.;-)And we found a great little place near here. It was yummy and not very pricey. So that made our day. Plus I love supporting small Mom and Pop operations. This place was rather busy as well. So that was nice. I guess that's it. Still working on the bedrooms. It's hard for me to do much when Jason isn't here, beacause our girl loves getting into everything she shouldn't be in. And since this is a apartment they won't let us use the normal screw in childlocks, so we are modifing them with 3M adhesive. But it takes a bit more effort to do.As well as energy, which I don't much of these days. Hope everyone who reads this is doing well. And Happy Birthday PAPA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can still remember being pregnant with her.Although it wouldn't be a bad thing if she waited to make her debut until after Syd's birthday.Things are getting better around here. We even have pictures on the walls. A major accomplishment. The tough thing is my lack of energy. But Jason seems to understand. And isn't giving me a hard time about my daily naps or being the last one up in the morning. Well laundry is calling my name. Peace be with all of you. Jess

It's Jason's only day off this week. It's hard try to get things done around the house as well as takeing care of Syd. She is all over these days. And loves to get in trouble.I will be 32 weeks on Sunday. Which I think is the 8 month mark.I was suppose to go see the doc this week. But ended up here in Vancouver instead. I hope to get the insurance stuff straigten out this coming week and can get into see and find an ob/gyn.I can still feel her moving and all that so we are not to worried yet.I can always go to the ER if the need arose. I just but Syd to bed. So It's time for some me time now. Jason and I found a movie to watch On Demand. Love that. No more going to Blockbuster. Sweet. Alright. Good Night all.

The sheep scared me!

She is even cute when she cries.A sheep got a little to close to her when we were at the Fair. She only cried for a minute though. And then was back to her usual happy self. The packing continues. I am anxious for Friday to come, so we can get some of the stuff loaded into it. And out of the way.It is a maze of boxes around here.;-)It's getting quite crowded.

Fair fun

We took Sydney to the Evergreeen State Fair today. And here she is seeing ducks for the first time. Well, at least upclose anyway. She seemed to have a good time. She was asleep before we even left.It sure was alot of walking for me at 7 1/2 months pregnant. Good for me though. The weather cooperated nicely. Just as I went to lay down for my nap after we got home, a serious rainstorm hit. Complete with thunder even. Nothing like what those poor people in the Gulf are facing. At least Hurrican Katrina didn't end being quite as strong as predicted.Bye for now.

Meghan Update

We had another Dr's Appt this morning. And things couldn't be better. Her heart sounded great at about 145-150 beats a minute. The size is great , with my uterus at about 29 inches long. My weight is fine. Just 1 pound over what I was when I first got pregnant. As well as okay blood work. No gestional diabetes to worry about. So we go back in 3 weeks, then 2 visits 2 weeks apart, then going every week after that. So all is good with her and me.

28 weeks today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was very cute and this doesn't do it justice. But the best shot I got. It reached 96 degrees here today. Way to hot for most of us, but Syd she doesn't seem to mind and loves running around in just a diaper. Meghan and I have reached another milestone. The 3rd and last trimester. Only 11 more weeks and we will get to see our precious, little Meghan. I am anxious to see how Sydney reacts to her little sister. I saw another new baby at church today, little Ethan only 2 weeks old. And it gets me very excited to know that I won't have to wait too much longer. Less than 3 months at least. We have another doctor visit and I am excited to see how things are going. Due to Jason's recent job change( no job yet, but some promising prospects) he gets to go with me tomorrow. So he can here the heartbeat for the first time. It always chokes me up.;-)I hope to have a picture of my ever growing babyness on here soon. Once I can get Jason to take it. As you may have noticed I do most of the picture taking, since I am not in any of the photos. Thanks again to Robin,Ken and Grandma and Grandpa Rivers for the digital camera. It gets a lot of use. That of course will only increase once Meghan arrives. She is very active now. Kicking a lot. A sort of "Mommy I am still here thing". Already keeping me up at night. As if I need to be reminded of how our lives will change yet again. I will write after our visit tomorrow, to give a Meghan update. Love to all of you, Jess,Jason,Sydney and Meghan.

Thia is what happens when Syd gets ahold of a pen. She breaks it and covers herself in ink.At least it was another one of our hot days when she gets to run around in a diaper. Or I think we would have had ruined clothes.Note to self: Don't give in to the cuteness and let her have a pen.
